President Muhammadu Buhari told His Royal Majesty, King Charles III, on Wednesday that he has no home in the United Kingdom and that he feels more free when he has nothing.
The president met with King Charles on Wednesday at Buckingham Palace to strengthen Nigeria’s bilateral relationship with the United Kingdom.
Buhari said in an interview after meeting the 73-year-old monarch that King Charles III asked if he had a house in the United Kingdom.
In response, the president stated that he had not purchased a home since taking office in 2015.
According to the president, “He (King Charles III) asked me whether I have a house here (in the UK), I said no.
“I live in Nigeria alone, the only houses I have are those I have before I got into government and I am not very much interested in having houses all over the place. I feel much freer when I have nothing”.
