Afrobeat artist Asake recently opened up about his collaboration with his senior colleague Wizkid, revealing that he didn’t initially plan to feature him.
Notably, Wizkid was featured on “MMS,” a standout track from Asake’s recently released third studio album, *Lungu Boy*.
During a recent Instagram Live session, Asake was asked by fans about his experience working with Wizkid for the first time. He admitted that featuring Wizkid on the song wasn’t part of the original plan, as he had someone else in mind for the collaboration.
However, when the music producer P.Prime played the track for Wizkid, he instantly loved it and decided to jump on it.
Asake also gave a big shout-out to Wizkid, calling their collaboration the number-one song in the country.
“I didn’t know I was going to put Wizkid on MMS, P Prime played the song to Wizkid, he liked it & jumped on it. Big shout out to Machala, number 1 song in the country.”
