Unidentified thugs have vandalized campaign billboards for All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu in Osun State.
The billboards were reportedly destroyed on Monday, about 24 hours after the state’s new Governor, Ademola Adeleke, was sworn in on Sunday.
Remember that Adeleke received 403, 371 votes on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform to defeat incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola, who received 375,027 votes on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform (APC).
Supporters of Governor Adeleke have been accused of being responsible for the destruction of Tinubu’s campaign billboards, but neither the accusation nor the PDP leadership in the state has been verified.
However, during a recent interaction with journalists in Lagos State, an APC chieftain, Jimoh Babafemi, stated that despite the destruction of the billboard and any other form of opposition to the APC, the party would win a landslide victory in the 2023 general elections.
Babafemi stated that the party was certain to win the presidential election in 2023 due to Tinubu’s “accomplishments and leadership capacity.”
He claimed that the party’s popularity foreshadowed its victory in the 2023 elections.
