The HNAUB undergraduates who were accused of using a fellow student for money rituals have been released after investigations revealed that the allegations against them were false.

Checks by naijalog revealed that the policeman who arrested the students at the initial stage did so arbitrarily, arresting them on the spur of the moment and because he allegedly had a beef against Nigerians. He was said to have turned deaf ears to the explanations of the students before raising a false alarm and manhandling in the process.

What led to the snake issue

The students who are  new students of the Houndegbe North American University stay off campus, were wary of their house being burgled as the case of petty theft is rampant in the area they live, so the students decided to seek the help of an herbalist to do an anti-theft charm.

Further investigation shows that it was the native doctor that gave the students the snake to use as a form of protection. The students were asked to take the snake to their house and that the snake would visit the house of the thieves to fish them out without causing harm to anyone who isn’t guilty.

Hence, the reason why the students had a snake in their possession.

Snake worshiping is a common act in the Republic of Benin.
