Based on delegate and super-delegate count by two international media houses – CNN and Associated Press – Hillary Clinton has clinched the Democratic nomination for US president.

AP reports that the count puts Clinton on 2,383 – which is the number required to make her the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party.

According to CNN, Hillary Clinton’s clinching of the Democratic presidential nomination was confirmed on Monday, after results of Puerto Rico’s Democratic primary on Sunday, came in.

Other media giants who are reporting that Hillary has the nomination in the bag are NBC and ABC.

Thus far, she has secured 1,812 pledged delegates and 572 super-delegates for a total of 2,384 delegates, one more than she needs to get the ticket to square up with Donald Trump in the general election.

However, Clinton has urged the media houses to wait for the remaining six primaries which holds on Super Tuesday, June 7.

We’re flattered, @AP, but we’ve got primaries to win. CA, MT, NM, ND, NJ, SD, vote tomorrow! https://t.co/8t3GpZqc1U
