Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has stirred controversy after revealing that she introduced her 17-year-old daughter, Simisola, to clubbing and alcohol.
The actress made this revelation during an interview with Mr. Lilgaga, where she explained that ages 17 and 18 are crucial years in shaping young people’s experiences.
Sharing details about her daughter’s first outing, Laide said: “I’m the first person that will bring her to a club. That was her first club experience ever. I love the fact that in her memory, she will say my very first clubbing and alcoholic drink was from my mum.”
She also addressed public discussions about Simisola’s body, clarifying: “She’s 17 now, that’s just how we are in our family; even me, I’m 44.”
This comes shortly after the actress celebrated Simisola’s high school graduation in Canada, where she graduated at age 16 with an impressive 4.80 GPA.
Laide further opened up about her personal life, admitting doubts about love and relationships. According to her: “I doubt if I can fall in love. Money and love together—that combo must be complete. I’ve been broke, I’ve been down, and I came back again.”
