Senator Ned Nwoko has rejected allegations that he has been physically abusive toward his wife, actress Regina Daniels.
In a public statement, Nwoko blamed the marital issues on Regina’s alleged battle with substance abuse — specifically drugs and alcohol — which he described as “the root” of their problems.
He claimed that within the last 48 hours, Regina purportedly assaulted three of their staff members, damaged property (including cars and windows) and relocated to a place with “unrestricted access” to drugs.
Nwoko said he has other wives who have never accused him of violence, saying “Regina is the violent one here.” He also set a condition for Regina to go into rehab — either in Asokoro, Abuja or abroad (mentioning Jordan) — where he believes she’d have no access to drugs.
He additionally accused individuals named Sammy and “Ann” of being her drug suppliers.
Though Regina’s brothers have responded with allegations of abuse by Nwoko, the actress herself has not publicly addressed the senator’s recent claims as of this writing.
