A few days before the start of their exam, a 500 level FUTA student passed away following a seizure.
The dead, Akeredolu Clinton Ayomide, allegedly died as a result of the university’s health center’s lack of professionalism.
His classmates protested on campus and in the surrounding area after learning of the young Nigerian student’s passing, causing traffic to be disrupted.
State of Ondo: Akure On Friday, August 25, undergraduates at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) protested the untimely passing of Akeredolu ‘Clinton’ Ayomide, a 500-level student at the university.
On August 24, in the evening, Ayomide sagged and passed away.

On Friday, FUTA, Akure, saw a protest following a student’s unexpected death.
Students accuse the school clinic of causing a colleague’s death.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, the students blocked the constantly busy Akure/Ilesha road for several hours, leaving motorists stuck.
According to The Punch’s article, they said that Ayomide died as a result of the medical center’s lack of basic services.
According to Legit.ng, the FUTA first semester exams for 2022–2023 will start on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
When interviewed by reporters, one of the students said: “We rushed him to the health facility at 8:30 pm. The power was off when we arrived, and it remained out during the oxygen setup, CPR, and injections they gave him.
Our flashlights had to be used. It’s difficult to comprehend that the clinic has no backup power supply.
FUTA student’s death: Institutional response
However, the Director of Corporate Communication, Adegbenro Adebanjo, appealed to the students who were demonstrating and called for calm in the institution’s response to the student’s death.
According to accounts put together, Ayomide Akeredolu slumped in his dorm, and all attempts at resuscitation, even at the Health Center, were unsuccessful. The physicians noted that he was brought in dead.
