A Nigerian mother has bravely shared how her life and the future of her young son were changed in an instant. Her little boy, just 16 months old, had been brought to a deliverance session at his father’s church. According to the mother, the pastor declared the toddler was “chained by the enemy” and in need of immediate deliverance. During the ritual, the pastor reportedly turned the child upside down. Not long after, the boy began having seizures, which progressed into a serious brain injury and led to a diagnosis of cerebral palsy.
Since that moment, the mother says everything changed: emotionally, physically and financially. Her husband, a member of the same church, walked away when their son turned two. She later learned he had remarried and moved on. The mother now faces the enormous challenge of caring for her child alone, grappling with both guilt and loss, and a future filled with uncertainty.
This story raises urgent questions about faith, risk, and responsibility in spiritual practices. It is a reminder that miracles are often accompanied by human consequences—and that our most vulnerable are sometimes the ones who pay the highest price.
