Unknown gunmen attacked a Celestial Church in Felele, Lokoja, Kogi State, killing two people and injuring three others.

According to DAILY POST, the incident occurred late Sunday evening behind the NNPC Mega station in Felele.

According to an eyewitness, the gunmen stormed the church and began shooting sporadically.

It was also discovered that two people died instantly, while several others fled for safety.

The injured victims are being treated at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) in Lokoja.

“When they entered, they started shooting at everyone outside the church,” an eyewitness said. I went inside a cassava farm to hide. What I witnessed yesterday felt like an action film within a film. “Kogi is no longer secure.”

On Monday morning, Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) William Ovye Aya confirmed the incident to DAILY POST.

Hoodlums, he claims, stormed the church and began shooting at worshippers.

“The Divisional Police Officer of B Division Felele received a distress call that hoodlums had invaded a Celestial Church behind the NNPC mega station and started shooting.”

“Two people have been confirmed dead in the hospital, while three others are being treated.”

“The Commissioner of Police has deployed our operatives and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of investigation to launch an investigation to determine the cause of the attack and apprehend those responsible,” he said.
