Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was captured enjoying moments with top entertainers, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, and others, during the #GreaterLagosCountdown2025 event.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to the artists and residents who contributed to the success of the celebration.
He wrote, “A big thank you to the incredible artists—Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Olamide, Seyi Vibez, and many more—who graced the stage and made the night unforgettable. Your talent and passion brought Lagos to life!”
Sanwo-Olu described the event’s atmosphere as “electric,” showcasing the vibrant spirit of Lagosians. He also commended the unity and pride displayed by residents, saying, “Thank you for embodying the true Lagos spirit and showing the world what makes Lagos exceptional. Together, we welcomed 2025 with unmatched energy and pride.”
The countdown festivities began on Tuesday night across five major locations in the state—Ikorodu, Badagry, Ikeja, Lagos Island, and Epe—with the main event held at Tafawa Balewa Square on Lagos Island.
