The flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party at the February 28 governorship poll in Adamawa State, Nuhu Ribadu, has been described as God’s answer to the cries of the people of the state.
The incumbent governor, of the state , Bala Ngilari represented by his deputy governor designate, Sa’ad Tahir , echoed this thoughts at a ‘Thank You’ rally held by the party at Jada on Saturday.
Mr. Ngilari said: “As people of God, we know that both Christian and Islamic scriptures have taught us that no one can give you power or take away power from you, other than God. I am therefore free of any malice,” he noted in obvious reaction to his failed quest to win the party’s nomination.
The governor further reiterated his resolve to ensure total victory for the party in the state, as he admonished all partymen to work for victory.
In his address, Mr. Ribadu thanked the party’s delegates and other stakeholders from Jada and other local governments for entrusting the governorship’s ticket in him. He pledged not to let them down if he eventually succeeds at the general election.
“I am in this for the good of Adamawa State,” he said. “Our aim is to see that the Adamawa takes its rightful place among states of Nigeria. We want to uphold the sanctity of human dignity through provision of essential life tools.”
