Tears were running down the face of family and friends on Saturday as 17-year old Friday Njengo, a member of the Golden Eaglets, was buried in his hometown, Kaltungo, Gombe State.

Njengo was a regular in the Eaglets’ squad before a car crash took his life on February 3. The promising player was on his way to Calabar for the team’s first phase of final camping ahead of the 2013 African U-17 Championship in Morocco.
