Social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has launched a scathing attack on the Ekiti State Government, expressing fury over the 2026 budget allocations, which he describes as “wicked” and insensitive to the plight of the masses.
The Curse
In a viral video, the commentator called out the governor and members of the State House of Assembly, accusing them of prioritizing their own comfort over human lives.
He declared:
“God will punish you. Not just you, but every member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly. When you don’t fear God, you will enjoy His punishment,”
The Numbers
VDM pointed out the stark disparity in the figures. He noted that from a total budget of approximately N415.5 billion, a meager N68 million was allocated to primary healthcare for the entire state, with only N1.6 million set aside for drugs and medical supplies.
He questioned:
“Even if we don’t exaggerate, let’s say Ekiti now has over twenty million people. Elderly people, pregnant women, children — and you budget N68 million for primary healthcare?”
Misplaced Priorities
The activist contrasted the health budget with the funds allocated for the officials’ perks, listing N618 million for sitting allowances, N150 million for furniture maintenance, and N24 million for refreshments.
He lamented:
“You people budget more money for food, furniture and sitting down than for hospitals. God will punish you,”
