A young boy is being investigated after he allegedly forced a five-year-old girl to simulate oral sex on him.

The boy, also five, is believed to have locked the girl in a toilet at a school in Bedford.

The name of the school is not being released.

Bedford Borough Council is now investigating the claims after the victim’s mother said the head teacher had refused to tell the boy what he had done was wrong.

The mother told local press: ‘He locked her in the toilets and told her to keep quiet and if we get caught it’ll be “your fault”. We’ve been trying to deal with this awful incident and the school has been telling people it’s a normal thing for a child to do. It is absolutely disgraceful.’

She has since removed her daughter from the school.

She added: ‘My daughter absolutely loves going to school but how can she go to class with him every day? I shouldn’t have to transfer her to another school, but I feel like I have no other option.’

A Bedford Borough Council spokeswoman said: ‘The council is aware of a safeguarding incident at the school and in view of the concerns expressed by the parents we are reviewing the actions taken at the time to safeguard the children involved.

‘It is not appropriate for the council, or the school, to go into specific details of any individual safeguarding case given we are required to manage these matters confidentially and with due regard to all the evidence available.’
