Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has asked to be left off the hook considering the pressure she has had to endure on the availability of the infrastructure both for the tournament and for legacy of the game hosted in the country.
She was speaking in response to the comments credited to FIFA President Sepp Blatter and Secretary-General Jérôme Valcke over the country’s delayed urban mobility projects.
The President was quoted by the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper as saying “Get Blatter and Valcke off my back! They don’t have anything to do for the World Cup; they are projects for the cities.”
Her comments came on the hill of the protest which was witnessed across about 12 cities in Brazil. The protest was a wide demand of the people to the government to provide them with better worker’s welfare, social infrastructure and housing.
