Gbemso, the new partner of MC Fish, has addressed criticism circulating online after photos and videos of them together went viral.
The clips generated mixed reactions, with some social media users questioning the timing of their relationship, given MC Fish’s previous marriage to Nollywood actress Anita Joseph.
In response to the backlash, MC Fish shared a message on his Instagram story suggesting that men are often judged more harshly in relationship matters. He argued that when women move on and find new partners, they are celebrated, but when men do the same, they are frequently accused of betrayal or wrongdoing.
Gbemso also spoke out to counter claims that she played a role in ending his marriage. She insisted that MC Fish was single when they met and that their relationship began afterward. According to her, they both came from past relationships where they felt undervalued, and meeting each other marked a fresh start.
She further dismissed accusations describing MC Fish as a “gold digger,” stating that he has been caring, responsible, and supportive throughout their relationship.
She said:
“I need to clear the air because I don’t like publicity. I am not going to be silent and allow the wrong narrative fly. I was not the one who ended his marriage. God forbid. I met him single, and we started our relationship based on the fact that we both dated people in our past who did not appreciate us in their lives
It was so beautiful when we found each other. I don’t know where you guys are seeing a gold digger. My baby takes care of me, provides for me and cares for me. He is an intentional man, and that is why I am dating him”.
