Minority Whip of the Senate, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, yesterday, officially declared his intention to seek nomination as a candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to contest the 2015 governorship election in Lagos State.
Solomon stated that he offered to serve the people of Lagos due the status of the state as the economic capital of the nation, saying; ‘’Lagos therefore, needs constant improvement and regeneration of infrastructural facilities and the people deserve the best possible.”
The lawmaker reeled out his programmes during the declaration which took place at Ikorodu Town Hall in Ikorodu local government, Lagos State.
Also, traditional chiefs and leaders of All Progressives Congress, APC, from the Local Government Area, expressed their unflinching support for the aspirant in his commitment to take Lagos to the next level.
The declaration also coincided with the inauguration of his campaign office in the town.
Senator Solomon, however, said that his party, the APC, has changed the face of Lagos and improved the quality of lives of the people since the new democratic dispensation in 1999.
The governorship aspirant commended the former governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the incumbent Governor Raji Fashola for taking the state to greater heights “that left no one in doubt that Lagos is a reference point in good governance.”
