Maduka Zachary, a leader of the Labour Party in Abia State, was decapitated at his residence in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area.
According to news sources, the deceased served as the campaign director for the Labour Party in the Uturu elections of 2023 as well as for Hon. Amobi Ogah, a member of the House of Representatives who represents the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal seat.
He served as the Uturu Union’s home branch chairman as well.
According to reports, he was killed at his house by unidentified assailants who apparently removed his head.
According to reports, the event happened on Tuesday night.
According to Vanguard, Moureen Chinaka, the police public relations officer in Abia State, claimed she had not received a briefing on the incident.

However, Ceekay Igara, the leader of the Labour Party in Abia State, verified the occurrence and said that it might be connected to local efforts to combat insecurity.
He claimed that the deceased was a fervent supporter of security in the area and that his passing dealt a serious damage to efforts to combat insecurity.
“I spoke with our party’s local government chairman, and he verified it. Because the man was active in the region’s fight against cultism and insecurity, he suggested that it might be related to both.
