Some Nigerians have linked the fur Big Brother Titan star, Yemi Cregx, wearing his agbada on the opening night of the 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) to alleged Ogboni society membership.
Remember that Yemi Cregx won the prize for best-dressed man on the first night of the award show weekend because of his outfit? Yemi Cregx arrived at the cultural event looking majestic in his crimson-red agbada, which he adorned with a matching fur on his shoulders. He accentuated his flawless outfit with beaded jewellery.
The cultural event began off a series of events leading up to the award presentation, which is set to take place today, May 20 in Lagos.
Some Nigerians who commented on the reality show star’s clothing said that the fur is a mark of his Ogboni membership.
Ogboni (also spelled Osugbo in Ijèb) is a fraternal organisation unique to Yoruba-speaking polities in Nigeria, the Republic of Benin, and Togo, as well as the Edo people. The organization serves a variety of political and religious purposes, including exerting significant influence on monarchs and acting as high tribunals of justice in cases involving capital penalties.
