Actress and producer Funke Akindele has unveiled a festive Christmas song titled Everybody Loves Christmas.
The official music video features an impressive cast of industry stars, including Jide Kosoko as Father Christmas, Patience Ozokwo displaying her signature Mama G dance moves, and Waje delivering her soulful vocals.
The video begins with Bisola Aiyeola singing the opening lines: “Christmas, my favourite time of the year, the time of the year when the jollof is always sweeter and the chicken always bigger.” Layi Wasabi also makes an appearance, adding his trademark comedic flair.
Nancy Isime, dressed in a dazzling green outfit, sings, “The reason for the season is the loving and the giving…” Funke Akindele and comedian Omotunde Adebowale, known as Adaku, contribute with an engaging Yoruba verse, while D’banj raps and hands out gifts to children.
Lateef Adedimeji brings his energy to the song with lively singing and dancing. Falz joins in with his signature smooth rap, saying, “I want to send a shout-out to mummy and daddy…”
The video has received enthusiastic responses from fans. In the YouTube comments, user jenniferdavid247 wrote, “Can this be our official Christmas song in Nigeria? Let’s make it trend every Christmas, just like Mariah Carey’s song does. This is too good—I didn’t want it to end!”
