Legendary Fuji musician, Pasuma, has spoken out following reports that he was attacked by thugs during a recent visit to Ikire, a town in Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.
According to NAIJALOG, the incident occurred last Sunday when Pasuma was in town for a scheduled performance. A viral video circulating online showed visible damage to his convoy, with a voice in the background claiming they had been attacked with firearms.
“They’re shooting at us in Ikire! See Pasuma’s car! But God is with us,” the voice exclaimed.
Addressing the situation during a live performance, Pasuma shed light on what actually transpired. He explained that while he has many loyal fans in Ikire, some unruly individuals disrupted the event.
“Regarding what happened in Ikire, I have a strong fan base there. But like every town, there are always a few troublemakers,” he said.
He explained that the venue was overcrowded, with attendees exceeding the hall’s capacity. As a result, an external screen was set up for fans outside. However, many refused to stay outdoors and insisted on entering the hall.
“When security tried to control the crowd, some of the miscreants started throwing stones,” Pasuma explained. “The stones damaged the windscreen of my Hilux and Hummer bus. But contrary to what people are saying, there were no gunshots fired.”
The singer’s clarification has helped dispel the earlier rumors, setting the record straight about the chaotic event.
