Femi Falana, constitutional lawyer and senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) has revealed why he and other Legal practitioners are yet to protest the announcement by the Federal Government that petrol will now sell for up to N145 per litre due to the removal of subsidies.
According to Falana, the development was unexpected, stating that he and his legal colleagues are currently engaged in consultations.
He said: “You don’t just start to embark on mass protests without careful planning. We were taken by surprise yesterday by the government. I can assure you that we are currently engaged in consultations”.
It will be recalled that Femi Falana among other legal practitioners in the country on January 1, 2012 during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan stormed the Gani Fawehinmi Park at Ojota Lagos to protest the removal of fuel subsidy by the Jonathan Administration
