The pursuit of justice for the late Nigerian singer Mohbad has intensified after controversial social media figure VeryDarkMan released a revealing audio clip.
As a reminder, Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, at just 27 years old, a loss that shook Nigeria’s music scene.
In a renewed push for justice, VeryDarkMan has conducted interviews with Mohbad’s family, close friends, and his wife Wunmi, shedding more light on the circumstances surrounding the singer’s final days.
A recently surfaced 2-minute-40-second audio recording features Mohbad speaking emotionally about someone he shares an iCloud account with — accusing them of trying to harm him. He also reflects on the toll his detention by NDLEA had on his life, describing things as chaotic since the incident.
“You think I will forget everything. I know you will not say anything. You know how to go and call my mum to make her sad,” Mohbad is heard saying in the clip.
He also claims that this unidentified person was accessing his WhatsApp, choosing his clothing against his will, and interfering with his privacy. He ends the audio with a warning that if anything happens to him, the person should be held responsible.
Though the recording doesn’t name the individual directly, speculation online points toward his wife, Wunmi, as the possible subject of the accusations.
