Four people have reportedly died while others sustained injuries in an explosion that occurred in Sabon Gari area of Kano state on Tuesday, May 17.
The commissioner of police in the state has confirmed that it was a bomb explosion and not a bomb explosion as reported on social media.
Dikko, commissioner of police said the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder used for welding. He also added that four victims have died so far while efforts were being made to rescue the other victims.
Meanwhile, the area had been cordoned off by a combined team of security agencies, including Police, DSS, Civil Defence Corps.
A rescue team from National Emergency Management Agency, Federal Fire Service and Federal Road Safety Corp were also on ground to evacuate injured victims.
