An explosion at Nigeria Distilleries Limited, Ijako, Sango-Ota, in Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, yesterday claimed four lives with no fewer than 20 others seriously injured. The explosion, which occurred late yesterday, was said to have emanated from one of the boilers of the distilling company when many workers were on duty.

Saturday Sun also learnt that the explosion pulled down the perimeter fences of many neighbouring companies. Some of the lucky workers, who escaped, further stated that the boiler was mixing preparations for one of the brands of the company when it exploded. Ambulances of companies from AVON and Fidson Drugs helped in conveying the injured to hospitals.
