The former governor, Gbenga daniel has been re-arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a 38-count-charge of stealing, bribery and corruption, and fraudulent conversion of government property among other crimes.
According to the charges levelled against him, Daniel stole N211.3 million and converted government land in various parts of the state for his family’s use during his tenure.
The EFCC alleged that the acts of stealing and bribery were carried out through companies in which Daniel had interests, some of which were listed as Kresta Laurel, Conference Hotel, GLD Consults, Silver Springs Investments, Millennium Parks and Master Line Company.
