Following Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Piers Morgan, ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has stated that at least three Manchester United legends will support him.
During the 90-minute interview, Ronaldo stated that United has made “zero progress” and that he has “no respect” for manager Erik ten Hag.
Carragher has slammed the player for his comments, claiming that “99% of United fans” will not support the 37-year-old.
When asked about his ‘99%’ claim by a fan, Carragher responded, “Only the Ronaldo cranks [will support him].” Rio [Ferdinand], Roy [Keane], and Patrice [Evra] will make up the 1%…”
In recent weeks, Ferdinand, Keane, and Evra have all defended Ronaldo and downplayed the incident during United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham, in which he left Old Trafford early.
Ferdinand blamed Ten Hag for a lack of communication and claimed Ronaldo should be treated “differently” as one of the best players in history.
