Catholic priest Fada Oluoma has weighed in on the ongoing controversy between the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and actress Ini Edo, advising the religious body to tread carefully regarding her movie, “A Very Dirty Christmas”.

The Condition for Ban

The cleric stated that unless the film explicitly violates national ethical codes or regulatory standards, there is no grounding to demand its removal. He argued that the movie should be allowed to continue showing if it meets these legal criteria.

“Silence on Real Issues”

While he acknowledged CAN’s duty to defend the faith, Father Oluoma criticized the association for what he perceives as misplaced priorities. He pointed out that the body often remains silent on far more dangerous issues plaguing the church from within.

He specifically highlighted:

“silence on more serious issues affecting the faith, including alleged fake miracles, unverified prophecies, and the exploitation of worshippers by some church leaders.”

Misplaced Priorities

The priest urged the association to redirect its energy toward purging the church of these internal rots, which he argued are:

“more damaging to Christianity than a movie title.”
