Taiwo Awoniyi, Chidera Eze and Bernard Bulbwa all scored for the Flying Eagles, as they beat Dolphins 4-1 in their fourth game of the NPFL Super Four tournament to emerge champions.
The Nigeria U-20 team took the lead after 24 minutes, after Awoniyi finished off a pass from Obinna Nwobodo. Dolphins’ defender Jonathan Zikiye put the ball into his own net three minutes before the break, to double the Flying Eagles’ advantage.
Bulbwa made it 3-0 for Manu Garba’s team, before Christian Pyagbara pulled one back for the Nigeria Premier League outfit. Ezeruike and Tijani Adamu were both red-carded, before Eze settled the tie with the last goal of the game.
The Flying Eagles will play the Dream Team on Sunday in the final day of matches, in what is just a mere formality.
