Five women have died at Alagolo market in Orita-merin, Ibadan, Oyo state capital, on Wednesday, 6th of March, 2019 following a fatal truck accident. It was gathered that the truck was coming down the Mapo hill when it crushed the female traders at the centre of the market yesterday. It was gathered that there were no survivors in the accident as the victims were brought out from underneath the truck.
Olaitan Olatunji, a trader in the market told ADITU that, the heap of sand at scene of the incident as a result of ongoing road construction in area – prevented the victims from being alert of the imminent danger. She added that the truck was suspected to have had a brake failure while coming down the hill. The corpses has been taken to an undisclosed mortuary.
