According to Femi Falana, the 8-month-old ASUU strike is likely to be resolved outside of the courtroom. Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria and the union’s lead counsel, made the announcement in Lagos on Monday, October 10th. The legal luminary added that the university lecturers’ strike is likely to be called off in a matter of days rather than weeks.

According to the legal expert, the strike will most likely be resolved outside of the courtroom.
Falana was the lead defense counsel for the university lecturers after the federal government dragged the union to the national industrial court. Before President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration took the academics to the industrial court, the union and the federal government had failed to reach a conclusive agreement that would have justified calling off the strike.
