The Federal Government, on Monday, evacuated about 50 Nigerians from Syria, due to the ongoing crisis in the country.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olugbenga Ashiru, who announced this in Abuja, said “We have evacuated quite a lot of Nigerians from Syria; it was not an airlift exercise like we did in the case of Libya, because they are very few,”
“From the report I got, those moved so far are less than 50. Long before the situation deteriorated, we had advised them to move.
The minister urged Nigerians to relocate from the Middle Eastern nation, adding that those who decided to stay did so out of their own volition
