The Federal Government has clarified that it has no immediate intention of enforcing the 5 per cent Petroleum Products Tax included in the recently passed tax law.
Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.
The proposed tax has sparked outrage among Nigerians, with organised labour warning the government to scrap the policy or risk nationwide industrial action.
