The Federal Government has dropped the money laundering charges against Tigran Gambaryan, an executive at Binance Holdings Limited, due to concerns about his poor health and after diplomatic efforts.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Gambaryan was the second defendant in a case brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against the cryptocurrency platform Binance (the first defendant).

EFCC lawyer, R. U. Adagba, informed Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja about the government’s decision to withdraw the charges against Gambaryan because of his worsening health condition. However, the EFCC will continue its case against Binance Holdings Limited.
