The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended a 40-year-old man, Yahaya Saleh, for allegedly offering a ₦1.5 million bribe to officers in an attempt to secure the release of a suspected kidnapper currently under investigation.

According to Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, Saleh’s arrest came after a covert operation by the Scorpion Squad, which is actively probing a kidnapping ring operating in the FCT and neighboring regions.

Saleh is said to have approached investigators with the hefty sum in an effort to sway the outcome of the ongoing case. However, the officers rejected the bribe and promptly took legal steps that led to his arrest.
