A viral video has surfaced showing Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun responding to rumors suggesting she had a disagreement with her colleague, Funke Akindele.
The controversy started after a blogger claimed that both actresses exchanged awkward greetings during Fathia’s birthday celebration. The claim quickly spread online, sparking speculation about a possible feud between the two stars.
Fathia, who appeared upset in the video, strongly rejected the allegation and warned the blogger against spreading false narratives. Many fans and followers also came to her defense.
The actress, also known as Fathia Williams, celebrated her birthday on Thursday, February 5, alongside her former husband, actor Saidi Balogun. Like many colleagues, Funke Akindele sent her birthday wishes publicly, which Fathia acknowledged.
However, online reports later suggested that their exchange was awkward, reigniting rumors of tension between them.
Addressing the issue during a live session, Fathia made it clear that there is no bad blood between her and Funke. She explained that Funke greeted her warmly on her birthday and that she responded with appreciation, using a Yoruba expression to thank her.
She expressed frustration toward bloggers who create drama where none exists and urged them to stop interfering in her personal relationships. She also stressed that the story being circulated online was completely untrue.
The situation comes after a past misunderstanding between the two actresses in 2024, which reportedly involved social media actions. However, both actresses were said to have settled their differences and reconciled in December 2025.
