A tragic incident took place on the Third Mainland Bridge on the night of Thursday, April 10.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) reported via their official X account that the accident occurred near the UNILAG Waterfront, heading toward Adekunle.
The accident involved a loaded mini truck that reportedly lost control, leading to a fatal crash. While the victim’s identity has not yet been released, the agency confirmed the fatality.
LASTMA’s statement further indicated that their traffic management team responded promptly, sending officers to the scene to control traffic flow and minimize disruptions.
The statement read: “A lone accident occurred on the Third Mainland Bridge near Unilag Waterfront, inward Adekunle, involving a loaded mini truck. Sadly, one fatality has been confirmed. Recovery operations are ongoing, and officers are on-site managing traffic to ensure minimal disruption.”
