The no nonsense Governor, thinking they were traffic violators ordered their arrest, however after careful scrutiny a locally made pistol was recovered from them.

The chief security officer to the Lagos State governor, AdeshinaLawal, while handing over the recovered motorcycle and pistol to the police commissioner, narrated that the armed robbers were, around 9.00p.m, on Monday, riding recklessly and didn’t obey traffic regulations when they ran into the governor’s convoy.

Adeshina said the governor, who detested flagrant violation of traffic laws, ordered  the okada men on the Lagos Island, around Dolphin Estate.

” At first, we were concerned about the way they rode against the traffic and when we carefully searched the motorcycles they abandoned, we found out that they had a locally-made pistol with them,” Adeshina stated, adding that, if the governor’s security men had known that the okada men were armed robbers, they would have ensured that they were arrested.

The police have also begun a manhunt for  the remaining members of the gang  who abandoned their operational motorcycle and escaped on sighting the governor’s convoy.
