A woman (@gloriaotikor1) told the story of a Nigerian family with five children who are currently stranded in the United Kingdom after borrowing millions of naira and selling their house and car to fund their relocation.
The family traveled to the United Kingdom on the mother of the family’s study visa. When she arrived in the country, she discovered that she would need to apply for a post-graduate visa in order to work, which would be costly.
According to the story, her creditors who borrowed money have been calling her from Nigeria, believing she will be able to repay them once she arrives in the United Kingdom.
Her husband, who works, can barely keep up with the bills because they have rent and children to feed. Despite borrowing money, the woman has not been able to finish her school fees in another country.
She told her friend that if she had known, she would not have made the decision to relocate abroad.
