The family of veteran singer Uche Ibeto, popularly known as The Jigida Queen, has refuted her allegation that she was forced out of her late mother’s property in Lagos.
In a statement signed by the Administrator of the Estate of the Late Mrs. Esther Ibeto, the family described Uche’s accusation as “false and completely misleading.”
According to the statement, the house in question was properly sold, and the buyer is now the legitimate owner. The family emphasised that Uche, who is the third child of the late Esther Ibeto, is neither the estate’s administrator nor its sole owner, and therefore has no legal right to claim control over the property.
The statement read in part:
“Our attention has been drawn to publications sponsored by Ms. Uche Ibeto, a dissatisfied beneficiary, aimed at deceiving the public and undermining the lawful management of the estate.
Ms. Ibeto has no legal title or authority to present herself as the property owner. Her actions are an unlawful attempt to assume powers belonging to the estate’s administrator.
The property was duly sold, and the purchaser rightfully took possession. Claims of eviction or document forgery are entirely baseless.”
The estate urged the public to disregard Uche Ibeto’s assertions, insisting that the sale of the late Mrs. Esther Ibeto’s property was legitimate and final.
