A dismissed army corporal, Adeleke Johnson has been arrested by men of the Nigerian Army, 2nd Mechanised Division,Odogbo- Ibadan for parading himself as a colonel.

The 62-year old was summarily dismissed from the Nigerian army in the year 1981 for selling diesel belonging to the Nigerian Army without authorization.

 

The con artist is on the wrong side of the law once again, this time he is cooling his feet in the guardroom of the Nigerian army for organizing a fake recruitment exercise for unsuspecting youths into the Nigerian Army.

 

The youths 24 in number were made to pay a combined sum of N24 million, with the con artist promising to secure them a place in the Nigerian Army Intelligence College, Tego Barracks, Lagos.

 

His unsuspecting victims (both males and females), comprising university graduates, undergraduates and artisans were made to undergo various make believe military drills so that the scheme could look real.

 

The sly Adeleke also connived with some printers to print fake admission letters, produce T.shirts and track suits with 2 Division mascot (Tiger) and the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps logos printed on them and sold them to the victims.”

 

Meanwhile, Adeleke will soon be handed over to the police for further investigation.
