The much anticipated Aba derby between Enyimba and city rivals Abia Warriors lived up to expectations on Sunday with the game ending in a thrilling three-all draw.
Abia Warriors had earlier in the season defeated their more illustrious city rivals 1-0 and all eyes were on Enyimba to avenge the defeat.
After an exciting first half that saw both sides going into the break with two goals apiece, Enyimba appeared set to carry the day after Rasheed Olabiyi handed them a 67th minute lead. But a late Chisom Chikatara goal gave the Warriors a share of the spoils.
Meanwhile, Bayelsa United striker, Peter Ebimobowei, increased his goals tally for the season to 13 as his hat-trick gave his club a 3-0 victory over Kaduna United in Benin. Ebimobowei is now joint top scorer with Rangers’ Osaguona Ighodaro.
In Ibadan, two goals from brothers, Bode and Tunde Daniel, gave Crown FC of Ogbomosho a 2-0 home win over Sharks of Port Harcourt
