On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, residents of Ibadan, Oyo State, reported an explosion in various parts of the state capital. Online videos depicted a dusty cloud, accompanied by burning houses and cars. According to Punch News, a University of Ibadan student confirmed the incident, stating, “It is true. We all heard the sound, and it was very loud. The cloud is filled with smoke. It happened at Bodija, and we in the UI area could see the smoke. Even those at Sango and Ojo heard the sound. In fact, we are all in a room scared for our lives.” A Twitter user, @WillieWinehouse, tweeted, “A BOMB JUST EXPLODED IN IBADAN! MY ENTIRE HOUSE AND STREET IS IN RUINS!!!! WHAT IS GOING ON!” This led to numerous followers sharing their observations in the comment section.
