Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has publicly thrown his weight behind former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello for the Kogi Central senatorial seat.
The Endorsement
This declaration of support follows a recent clarification by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding Bello’s ongoing N82.2bn fraud trial, where the agency reiterated that the former governor remains innocent until proven guilty. Seizing on this, VDM took to Instagram to argue that Bello has evolved as a person and deserves the opportunity to redeem his image politically.
He wrote:
“In light of what happened in the past, the controversy, the accusations by the EFCC, and criticisms from some Nigerians, I see a true leader who has worked on his flaws and, over time, has become a better man. Everybody deserves a second chance,”
He added:
“Let him show Nigerians the good in him,”
Attacks on Natasha Akpoti
While championing Bello’s cause, the activist launched a scathing critique of the incumbent, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. VDM argued that she lacks the “toughness” required for the job, dismissing her leadership style as “overly emotional.” The report notes that his dismissal of her credentials included the suggestion that she should be at home “cooking for her husband.”
