Cameroon striker, Samuel Eto’o is reportedly has joined Everton as manager, Roberto Martínez seeks to increase his forward options before the transfer deadline.
The 33-year-old, joins on a free transfer and links up with former Chelsea team-mate Romelu Lukaku, who signed for £28m this summer.
He was Liverpool’s fall-back option in case Brendan Rodgers’ move for Mario Balotelli failed.
However with Balotelli sealing his £16m transfer from Milan to Anfield on Monday, Eto’o is set to move to the other club on Merseyside and there are reports he could be given a two-year contract.
The former Real Madrid, Barcelona and Internazionale striker has also held talks with Ajax this summer and has options across Europe but is keen to remain in the Premier League.
Martínez wants another forward before next Monday’s deadline as Everton have little back-up for Romelu Lukaku as Arouna Koné is still recovering from a knee problem.
