Following Vincent Enyeama’s display in goal for Lille against AS Monaco at the weekend, teammate Rio Mavuba has joked that the Les Dogues (Great Danes) “have Jesus in goal”.
The Nigerian stopper produced a number of outstanding saves as Les Dogues climbed above Monaco to second in the table with a 2-0 victory at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
“We have Jesus in goals,” said captain Mavuba. “He was huge tonight. We’re in a great frame of mind at the moment; we were tough in midfield, impeccable in defence and we took our chances up front. It was perfect.”
Enyeama has now kept a clean sheet in his last seven consecutive Ligue 1 matches, 10 overall in 12 matches played. He has conceded just four goals.
