Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the former national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has finally won the Edo senatorial seat.
According to The Punch, the Independent National Electoral Commission Returning Officer, Benjamin Adesina, declared Oshiomhole the winner of the Edo North senatorial seat.
Adesina announced the results in Auchi, the senatorial headquarters, saying Oshiomhole received 107,110 votes to defeat the incumbent, Francis Alimikhena of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 55,344 votes.
“Adams Oshiomhole of APC, having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared as the winner of the election conducted on the 25th of February for Edo north senatorial district,” Adesina said.
In a surprising turn of events, a number of politicians participating in the 2023 general elections failed to deliver their polling units.
The failure of these politicians will not only affect their chances in the polls; it will rub off on those of their parties.
