The EFCC has summoned Subomi and Wahab Okoya, sons of billionaire Razaq Okoya, for questioning regarding their alleged involvement in naira abuse. The brothers have been instructed to appear at the EFCC office on Monday, January 13th, 2025.
This summons follows a recent controversy surrounding a promotional video. In the video, the Okoya brothers were seen with a police officer displaying stacks of Nigerian Naira, which sparked widespread outrage on social media.
The Nigerian Police Force responded by arresting the police officer involved. The police spokesperson condemned the officer’s actions as unethical and stated that he would face disciplinary measures.
However, public outcry continued, with many Nigerians demanding that the Okoya brothers also face consequences for their role in the incident. A prominent social media influencer, VeryDarkMan, joined the calls for equal justice, urging the police to investigate and take action against the sons of the billionaire.
