Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode who granted EFCC invitation yesterday May 09, 2016 was said to have spent his first night in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as the anti-graft agency reportedly grilled him overnight.
According to an online source , Mr. Fani-Kayode was subjected to rigorous questioning by different investigators of the agency since his arrival yesterday.
The source said: “Nobody has granted him administrative bail. He is still being questioned and he will be passed to another set of investigators when he finishes answering here.”
“There is more than one case against him.”
Authorities said they’re quizzing Mr. Fani-Kayode over a sum of N840 million allegedly paid into his account on the eve of the 2015 general elections.
Investigators said they suspect the fund was part of the $2.1billion allegedly misappropriated by a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
Mr. Fani-Kayode, who served as spokesman for the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign in 2015, has repeatedly denied wrongdoing, saying “the allegations are baseless, wicked, shameful and irresponsible.”
